Sucrerie de la Montagne is a typical sugar shack of 120 acres which is open all year round. Recognized "Site of Quebec's Heritage" the sugar shack, located in the heart of a maple centennial forest, offers to its visitors a true incursion into the past of the Canadian and Québécois ancestors.
Pierre Faucher is the owner and gave himself the mission of respecting the patrimonial inheritance of his ancestors and of perpetuating with authenticity the Quebec Traditions.
A range of activities revolves around the cultural and patrimonial heritage and are offered in consideration of the profile of the markets and customers.
This year, la Sucrerie de la Montagne, located to the ridge of the massif of Mont Rigaud, enters its 30th year of operation. Formerly, it was there, well blotted at the bottom of the maple forest of the Saint-Georges Road, in Rigaud with its single building of boards. Today, we find it in all his splendour. It almost became a village where the buildings are strewn here and there which seem to emerge from a book of the history of Canada. A door squeaks and open. Come and enter in this world of traditions, through the traditional experiment of the sugar shack.
