We began our meal with a Kir Royal, a recommendation of the French waiter. The lunch table d'hôte changes frequently, but the menu remains traditionnal as they often have many faithful tourists that return to Saint Amable for the memories they continue to renew. I began my meal with a delectable lobster bisque while my partner took the smoked salmon. As our main meal my partner and I shared th seafood platter that contains lobster, gumbas, scampis and mussels. The most popular seafood dishes on the menu are: Seafood platter, the filet of salmon, which is served poached with saffron sauce, as well as the grilled lobster, the most popular meat dishes are: the roasted rack of lamb served with fresh thyme as well as the famous Chateaubriand for two.
We allowed ourselves to have dessert. Our waiter recommended the bananas flambés; in dark rhum which he created in front of us, the taste of the liquor with the brown sugar as well as butter was just the right taste to complete the meal.
Saint-Amable has been around for so long that it has become part of many families traditions; many husbands have proposed to their wives there, as well many parents have celebrated their children's christening. You have not visited the Old Port if you have not stepped throught France and entered Saint-Amable.
