After 13 years in business, the flagship Baton Rouge in Carrefour Laval continues to get it right!

Owned and operated by its 3 partners, Billy Priftakis, Perry Bakoginnis and Raphael Pimentel, Baton Rouge is undoubtedly one of the best run, best served and best preserved restaurants in the province of Quebec . Like a fine bottle of wine, Baton Rouge Laval only gets better with age.

My experience began as I entered the large double wooded and brass doors to the restaurant. We were greeted by a very welcoming hostess who escorted us to a spacious, bright and cozy corner table. I couldn’t help but notice that my sense of smell was captured by the aroma of succulent the ribs, one of Baton Rouges specialties. My taste buds were out of control and there was no doubt in my mind that I was having the ribs with all the trimmings… potatoes, vegetable and a small apple cobbler.

In moments from being seated, we acquainted ourselves with all the options from the menu. Our waitress offered us some drinks and shortly after we were introduced to Billy Prittakis our gracious host and one of the three partners. Established as the first Baton Rouge in Quebec , I could feel his great sense of pride as he told us how the partners worked together as a team. There unique differences seemed to be the answer to what sustained the restaurants reputation each year.

Billy recommended the Atlantic salmon served with a dill tartar sauce, accompanied by veggies steamed to perfection, dusted and broiled with parmesan cheese. I opted for the 16oz prime rib recommended grilled and cooked medium. Served with a brown dipping sauce, a fluffy baked potato and a crispy mixed green side salad covered with an amazing lime, ginger dressing, I can certainly say I was not disappointed.

To top off our meal, a menu with 9 different desserts was dropped off at our table. My creamy cappuccino was enjoyed next to the elegant chewy chocolate brownie, studded with golden walnuts, topped with French vanilla ice cream and a splash of kalua. My guest ordered the Key Lime pie, a tangy rich and creamy filling made with Key West lime juice, topped with pistachios and walnuts was delicious.

Baton Rouge Laval is just one of those restaurant that makes that one question “where do you want to go for dinner” that much easier! Located in Carrefour Laval Shopping Center , parking is easy and free and business hours are extremely flexible. The restaurant is completely handicapped accessible and children are welcome anytime.

So make life simple, fine dining in the heart of Laval … Baton Rouge , all the time.
